As the world is becoming increasingly noisy, how do you curate the "best" information possible?
Bookish mission is to curate high quality information, defined as accuracy, completeness, consistency, uniqueness, and timeliness - useful and accurate. Here are some core principles Bookish follows to fulfill this goal:
- The information is “Evergreen”: A platform that focuses on building a knowledge base rather than ephemeral news type content..
- Wisdom of the Crowd: this concept is defined as "the collective opinion of a diverse independent group of individuals rather than that of a single expert". On Bookish, many people collaborate on the same notebook so that sufficient peer-review has occured
As a result of these two concepts, the knowledge base quality improves over time as more people read and contribute to it. Sort of like a Github for writing.
We kickstarted the content on our platform by enabling the import of existing content in a generally untapped resource: google docs and sheets.
The app is built with ReactJS, Javascript, Postgres, Express, and NodeJS.
